Position: Electrician – HMP Garth, Leyland (PR26 8NE)
Salary: £30,866 – £36,135
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: 39 hours per week | 8am–5pm
Rota: 1 in 4 weekends (rota) + 15% allowance

About the role
We're recruiting a qualified Electrician for a permanent, single‑site role at HMP Garth. This is steady work on a long‑term MoJ contract – no travelling between sites, consistent hours and job security.
Key duties
- Planned & reactive electrical maintenance
- Fault finding and repairs
- Minor works and like‑for‑like replacements
- Testing and inspections to BS7671
- Ensuring systems are safe, compliant and operational
Requirements
- Level 2 Electrical qualification
- 18th Edition (17th considered with training)
- Electrical maintenance experience
- Knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations
- Able to work independently
- Basic IT skills
Desirable: Fire alarm/CCTV experience (not essential)
Prison security clearance including Standard DBS required – full support provided by Amey.
